Day 1.
We'll welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the Wilderness Hotel Nellim. Dinner and information about program. At 10.00 pm we’ll depart for our first night of aurora viewing. A cosy, heated cabin with hot drinks and snacks makes your northern lights viewing even more enjoyable. Return to hotel around 1.00 am. Accommodation in cosy double rooms.

Day 2.
It just gets better. After a leisurely morning, you harness up the dog teams and take the reins for a safari on the thick frozen ice of Lake Inari. Last night’s visit to the lake will seem more like a dream as the daylight reveals Inari’s seemingly endless ice. Your husky safari will last for about four hours and includes lunch by an open fire.
After dinner at the hotel its time heading out again into the darkness on snowmobiles in search of the Northern Lights. The optimum time for viewing the celestial light show is between 11pm to 1am so you’ll leave Nellim at about 10pm and return approximately 1am. Again, breakfast is served late.

Day 3.
Free morning, in the afternoon its time to do snowshoeing trip in Nellim surroundings. We will have picnic lunch during the day. We will stay out for app. 3 hrs. After dinner its time to go out to search of the Northern lights. . A cozy, heated cabin with hot drinks and snacks makes your northern lights viewing even more enjoyable. Return to hotel around 1.00 am.

Day 4.
After breakfast its time to say good-bye to Nellim. Transfer to airport.

Both the village and the surrounding countryside are worth seeing at any season of the year. Nellim is a village with three cultures, as its population is partly of Inari Sámi origin, partly Skolt Sámi and partly Finnish. We wish you welcome to Nellim- the village of Sámi culture and natural beauty close to the Russian border!

Cultures converge at Nellim
The guide waits at the Wilderness Hotel, from which we start our visit to the traditional Nellim room and find out about the Skolt Sámi and Inari Sámi culture. From museum room we go on to the Holy Trinitys Church, a Christian Orthodox Church. From the Church, we travel to the border of Kessi within reach of the Russian border. We’ll enjoy a traditional lunch at the Wilderness Hotel.

Nellim, a small community in the Northern Lapland, above the Arctic Circle, will be your base camp of you wonderful journey. Drive your snowmobile to explore the virgin snow of the far north! Then, jump on the pads of your sled dogs and snowshoes, and finally ski in the heart of taiga. Come experience the raid adventure like no other, designed for those who still dream of immaculate territories… Welcome to “Trail of the Wolf”. In small groups of 6 persons maximum, our guides will share their passion for this environment. In harmony with you abilities, we will take you to explore this last frontier of Europe, far from major tourist centers in Lapland.

Program:
2 days sled dogs to the discovery of Lake Inari
2 days snowmobiling and meet the reindeer farmer
1 day snowshoeing and 1 day skiing to discover the Taiga, footprints of animal and the play full side of these activities

Northern lights Adventure by Lake Inari
To the north an eerie, sulfurous-green sheen begins to ripple into the night sky. It arcs itself into an ebb and flow, slowly growing, then suddenly bursts across the full expanse of the night sky waving and dancing as if it were happy. It’s the spectacular and mystical Northern Lights and viewings such as the one above are common in the Nellim.
Northern Lights viewing activities take place outside the village. A heated, cozy cabin or wall tent is available for your comfort. Hot drinks and snacks are provided.

Day 1
We'll greet you at the airport and bring you to the Wilderness Hotel Nellim where you'll be staying for the duration of this tour. Information meeting and dinner at the hotel. Fitting of winter clothing, 21.30 pm departure for Aurora viewing. A cozy, heated cabin or wall tent with hot drinks and snacks makes your Aurora viewing even more enjoyable. Return to hotel around 1.30 am.

Day 2
Breakfast 9 – 11.00. 4 hrs Husky safari on lake Inari. 2 / drivers per team of dogs. During safari lunch by open fire. Dinner and sauna. 21.30 pm departure for Aurora viewing. Again, in a warm-up cabin hot drinks and snacks are provided. You may sit around a roaring fire and share stories. Return to hotel around 1.30 am.

Day 3
Morning at your leisure. In afternoon we do snowshoeing trip for 3 hrs. Dinner and sauna.
22.00 Northern lights searching by snowmobiles return to hotel around 1.00 am.

Day 4
Breakfast 9 – 11.00. Snowmobile safari to reindeer farm and ice-fishing app.5 hrs. Driving about 50 km, visit reindeer farm and ice fishing in Wilderness Lake. Lunch by open fire.
21.30 pm departure for Aurora viewing. Return to hotel around 1.30 am.

Day 5
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

The winter week in Nellim is ideal for Adventurous couples, families, or individual guests looking for active holiday in the snow, in the beautiful surroundings of Lappish nature. Meet the cute huskies, hop on to the sled pulled by reindeer, experience the exciting snowmobile driving or stay at the hotel surroundings ice-fishing, snowshoe walking, building a snowman or tobogganing.
Wilderness Hotel Nellim is beautifully located in the Lappish nature, next to the lake Inari. The hotel is only 45 minutes drive from the Ivalo Airport. Accommodation is in cozy hotel rooms or in holiday apartments for 2-8 persons with wc, shower, kitchen, 1-4 bedrooms and TV.

Programme:
Day 1
Arrival at Ivalo airport, transfer to Nellim (45min). Meet and greet with the safari group and your guide. Information about the programme for the week. Dinner will be served in hotel restaurant. Overnight in cozy hotel rooms or in apartment.

Day 2, Snowmobile safari to reindeer farm on lake Inari
We will ride through Arctic landscape of Lake Inari to a reindeer farm, where we come familiar with the reindeer and herdsman himself. We take a short drive with the reindeer through the forest. Lunch will be served by open fire during the safari. Duration of safari is app.5-6 hrs. Return to Nellim late in afternoon.

Day 3, Cross-country skiing and snowshoes
This day will be dedicated to cross-country skiing and snowshoe walking. The skiing tracks start nearby the hotel and you will learn the basics of cross-country skiing with your guide. Lunch in the hotel restaurant. After lunch we will go for a short snow-shoe tour close to the hotel. Return to the hotel and time to enjoy warm sauna. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 4, Northern lights safari
This day is free for your own activities. You can go cross-country skiing or for a snow-shoe tour or just relax. After dinner its time to search for Northern lights. Northern lights safari to our Aurora Borealis camp on Lake Inari. We will go there by a snowmobile. Duration of Safari is app. 3 hrs.

Day 5, Snowmobile safari
Your experienced guide will show you how to drive a snowmobile and give you the safety information. Then you will start the snowmobile safari 30 km (2 persons per
snowmobile). A picnic lunch will be served during the safari by campfire and we will also stop for ice-fishing. Duration of the safari is approx. 3 hours. After returning to hotel free time for own activities. Dinner in hotel restaurant and sauna.

Day 6, Husky safari
After breakfast its time to meet Huskies. You will be taught how to handle the sled and then you will start the half day app. 4 hrs husky safari - 2 persons / dog team. During
the safari you stop for a picnic lunch by campfire. Today’s driving distance is approx 17
km. Return to hotel. Free time for own activities. Farewell dinner with Lapp specialties will be served in hotel restaurant.

Day 7
Breakfast and transfer to Ivalo airport.
